Eligible Participants:

Florida students in grades 9-12


While Tony Jannus is responsible for the birth of commercial aviation, the industry has continued to advance as the demand for more efficient travel has increased. As CEO of Airbus, Dr. Thomas Enders has significantly contributed to this advancement. As an example, he was directly responsible for the launch of the Airbus A32 IXLR which offers an increase in fuel efficiency and range (longer routes), increase in maximum takeoff weight, and additional seating with a variety of class layouts improving the travel experience. Moving forward, the commercial aviation industry will continue to advance in ways we can't even imagine. Describe what types of advancements you foresee in the future for aircraft, airports, and/ or passenger experience and how the aviation industry will impact society in the future.

Video: 3-5 minute short film or narrated video submitted in a .MP4 or .MOV formats.


First Place Grand Prize

Student: Three round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines to any of Southwest Airlines destination, plus $600 spending allowance.

Teacher: Two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines to any Southwest Airlines destination.


Second and Third Places Prizes

Student: $100 restaurant gift certificate and an award certificate
